Title: How come I always want to do stuff I've been told not to do?

Blog Entry: It never fails. Tell me I shouldn't do something, and for whatever reason, that's all I want to do. This is nothing new. I've always been like this. I think there are many others out there that like me, do not like being told what to do, even when it is for our own good. As a little girl, if my mother told me I couldn't be friends with someone, guess who was my best friend the next day? My mom was usually right, as I would find out many, many times. Twenty-nine years ago, my father disapproved of someone I was dating. Guess whom I married 25 years ago and am still married to today? On this one, I was right! So, see? Folks are not always right when they advise you against something. The day my son was born, I was told not to eat or drink anything prior to coming to the hospital. I had a small cup of coffee, which resulted in me being nauseated the entire time. Throw up a “no smoking” sign, and guess who wants to smoke? Some things never change. Just last week, I had some dental work done. The dentist specifically said not to eat anything sticky or hard that could cause a temporary crown to fall off. I wanted gummy worms like never before! Right now, I'm munching on some Sugar Babies I found at the office. At least I'm chewing on the opposite side. Life is too short to do otherwise.
